Dr. Wenquan Li is an Assistant Professor in Finance at Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU). He earned a PhD in Finance from The University of Queensland (UQ). Wenquan’s primary research interests include environmental and climate finance, household finance, and behavioral finance. His recent working papers also involve artificial intelligence (AI), corporate bonds, and mergers & acquisitions.
Wenquan’s research has been presented at prestigious conferences (e.g., AFA, CICF, FIRN, FMA, EFMA, AsianFA, CAFM, and NZFM) and featured on The FinReg Blog of the Duke Financial Economics Center. His papers have been published in the British Accounting Review (ABDC: A*), Journal of Financial Research (ABS: 3), International Journal of Finance & Economics (ABS: 3), and North American Journal of Economics & Finance (JCR: Q1). He received the Dean’s Award for Outstanding HDR Theses from UQ.
He serves as an ad-hoc reviewer for ABDC A*/A journals (e.g., BAR, JBFA, JIFMIM, and AF). In terms of service and engagement at XJTLU, he sits on the Finance Department Research Committee. He has also supervised honours students at UQ, and his students’ theses received full grades in the examinations. Moreover, Wenquan has extensive experience in entrepreneurship projects and competitions. He is also an alumnus of the Young Leaders Program in FinTech Research at Ant Group (Alibaba).
